We Need Your Quilts

We pride ourselves in featuring a large number of quilts and other quilted items in our quilt show.  We encourage all of our members to register at least one quilt in the show, no matter your experience.
The rules for entering a quilted item are:
  • The item must be 3 layers – a top, bottom and middle layer of padding
  • The quilt has not been in one of our previous shows. Our last show was in April 2019.
  • You must have worked on piecing or quilting the quilt
  • The quilt must be clean, free of pet hair/dander, and scent-free (including no smoke odor)
  • You must be a paid member of the Arnprior & District Quilters' Guild for the 2022-2023 guild year
We group the quilts into categories based on type of item and size, and also by specific guild projects. Our preemie quilts will also be on display.  There are generally sections for Christmas, table runners, wall hangings, and baby quilts.  Wearables and bags are also welcome.
Items for each guild challenge and activity from the last 3+ years (fall 2019 to now)
will be grouped together. These include President's challenges, Mystery Quilt, Black and White Challenge and more (all listed below.)

Registration
  • You must register each item that you are providing for the show.
  • Registration begins on Monday March 27 and must be completed by Sunday April 16 so the display layout can be planned, and the printed labels can be ready to attach to the items at the show.
  • If you are unsure if the item will be completed in time for the show, please register it - if it’s completed bring it along, and if not, no questions will be asked.
  • Registration involves completing and submitting an online form for each item. You will nee to provide some basic mandatory information, including the Type/Size of item. If the item was made for a particular guild activity, please choose the appropriate Activity. To assist you in planning ahead for registration, the choices for both of these are listed below. The Activities are listed by the year the project was due.

Drop Off & Pick Up
You can drop off your quilts on Friday, April 28 at the Nick Smith Centre arena from 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Ensure that the unique number assigned to the quilt is attached to the it along with your name. We will have you sign our register to confirm we have all your registered quilts.   If this time is not possible, someone else can drop off your quilts, or contact Joyce Murray at 613-623-5513 and we will be happy to make other arrangements.

On Sunday, quilts can be picked up and signed out after the show closes at 4 PM.  To respect that some folks may still be at the quilt show looking around, we would ask that no quilts be taken down prior to 4 PM.  Your quilts can only be removed by you, or a person previously designated by you.
Volunteer Opportunities
The quilt show is possible only with your help.  The camaraderie with helping at such a community event is satisfying.  There are lots of volunteer opportunities available.  Help is needed both in the quilt show proper, and in the tea room.  You can sign up for your volunteer shift(s) at the April 19th guild meeting.
Tasks that you can sign up for are listed below along with the respective contacts if you have questions or require additional information.
