Activities
Guild members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and events. Some are free and some have a nominal charge. All are optional.
These activities are all starting early in the guild year to allow guild members to participate in one, or more, or all of these activities.
Schedule of Meetings and Activities
Block of the Month - Make a new block each month and use it in a project of your choice. Patterns are provided.
Challenges - Participate in “challenges” organized by the Programs team, and the annual President's Challenge.
Charity - Contribute to our charitable work including quilts that are donated to a variety of needy recipients - preemie quilts for the babies in the Rich Little Special Care nursery at the Ottawa Hospital, placemats for Meals on Wheels in Arnprior and in the Fitzroy Harbour and Constance Bay areas of West Carleton, items for the residents of The Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior, and quilts distributed through other charities such as Quilts of Valour Canada, and Victoria's Quilts Canada.
Retreats - Attend multi-day guild retreats for focused quilting, food and fun
Sew Days - Come on out to work on guild charity projects in the company of other guild members
Tinners - Other guild members make blocks for you and every month you make a block for someone else.
Workshops - Attend workshops to learn new techniques and make interesting items
