Objectives

The objectives of the Arnprior & District Quilters' Guild are:
  • To foster interest, awareness, and education in the area of quilt making
  • To encourage performance in the craft by providing a forum for fellowship and the exchange of experience, information, and ideas
  • To be involved in charity projects that benefit our communities

Activities

Our guild meetings feature interesting speakers who often show their beautiful creations, hands on activities, our very popular show-and-tell where our members share their projects with us, access to books and magazines in our library, and a break with refreshments. There are draws for door prizes and other items mentioned below. We also sell tickets for draws for a basket of quilting goodies, and a 50-50.

Members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and events. Some are free and some have a nominal charge.
  • Contribute to our charitable work including quilts that are donated to a variety of needy recipients, little "preemie" quilts for the Rich Little Special Care nursery babies at the Ottawa Hospital, Christmas stockings to go with local foodbank parcels, placemats for local Meals on Wheels recipients, and other charitable organizations.
  • Participate in “challenges” and various projects and activities organized by the Programs team.
  • Make a new block each month (block-of-the-month)
  • Attend workshops to learn new techniques and make interesting items
  • Attend guild retreats for uninterrupted, focused, fun quilting
  • Volunteer your quilts and your time in our biennial quilt show. Our next quilt show is in the spring 2022.
  • Meet other quilters from the area in and around Arnprior to learn from, and to share your quilting passion with
We meet monthly from September to June, usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 7-9 PM with doors opening at 6:30 PM.  See Schedule
