Arnprior & District Quilters' Guild Newsletter - June 2025
President's Message
On behalf of Joyce and myself, I would like to express how honoured we are to have represented the members of the Arnprior and District Quilters’ Guild in the Co- Presidents' role over the last two years. We quilters are a generous group of artists which has been demonstrated by the acts of giving over the years. When asked, you ladies have given your time and material to create quilts for different charities; supported our Charity Co-Ordinator, Marilyn with various charity projects, preemie challenges, and now the pillowcase challenge. The long and short of being a quilter is that we create beautiful quilts of which many are given away, to (I hope) quilt worthy people. Give yourself a pat on the back and be proud that you are a quilter. Everyone who carries the title is a brilliant, charitable artist.
We are thrilled to hand over our reign to Amanda. Amanda will bring a sense of freshness and enthusiasm to our Guild. We have an excellent executive to support her. We look forward to seeing what the team has instore.
Thank you to the fantastic executive who have supported Joyce and I in our role. Your enthusiasm, commitment and ingenuity made our role easy.
We are looking forward to spending many hours quilting this summer. Wishing everyone a fantastic summer!

The Quilters is a powerful new Netflix documentary that takes you inside a maximum-security prison in Missouri where a group of incarcerated men find purpose, expression, and redemption through quilting in a space that becomes more than just a sewing room, it becomes a lifeline.
This movie was recently released on Netflix.

"We just finished watching "The Quilters" on Netflix. It is men in prison making quilts for foster children and charity. It is a short movie but well worth your time watching."
