Arnprior & District Quilters' Guild Newsletter - December 2025
This is a perfect moment to celebrate the warmth, creativity, and generosity our guild brings to the community. Whether you stitched for charity, shared your knowledge, or simply showed up with a smile and a project to inspire us, you helped make this year something truly special.
This month’s meeting is going to be extra festive! We’re hosting a Trivia Night, complete with prizes for the winning team! And yes, we want to SEE that holiday spirit! Wear your sparkliest sweater, your jolliest socks, or go full “Walking in a Winter Quilt-land” if you’re feeling bold. Festive attire is highly encouraged!
As you finish your December projects, may your thread stay untangled, your bobbins stay full, and no creature stirring disturb the quilt blocks you’ve laid out. Let’s end the year with laughter, inspiration, and maybe a few too many Christmas cookies!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
Amanda, President

Program
This will be a fun social evening at our December Christmas/Holiday pot luck meeting. We're asking members with surnames beginning with the letters A-L to bring a dish to share at the potluck. It can be a main course item, appetizer, or dessert - anything you'd like to bring. To help members with dietary sensitivities, please include a list of ingredients for your dish to indicate any contents containing gluten (flour), lactose (dairy products), nuts etc. Quilters’ Conundrum Have you gotten stuck trying to think of an idea about colour matching, or which technique to use for binding, or which backing would suit the quilt you just made? Bring your ideas / challenges to our guild meeting at the Quilters Conundrum table. You can share your challenges and see what others think about it, 2 or 10 heads are better than one! Quilt Along We all just got Decembers’ quilt instructions. A quilt along night will be scheduled in January. Quilt Along instructions and info Sewcial Zoom Night Sewcial Zoom Night is on January 14th and an invitation will be coming in early January. -- Martha Palmer, Programs Co-ordinator |

Attention Pfaff Sewing Machine Owners About a week after our beloved local Sew Inspired quilt shop closed last spring, I urgently needed some work done on my Pfaff Quilt Expression sewing machine. Our nearest Pfaff service centre is now Mad About Patchwork located just south of Stittsville. I received excellent service from them and I'm very happy to recommend them for your Pfaff machine servicing. Be sure to check their hours, which are quite limited, before you go there. I think you can drop off or pick up outside of their published open hours if you call ahead to arrange a time. -- Janet Brownlee |
